About The Warm Chapter

The Warm Chapter makes heated gear for people who do not get to go inside when it drops below freezing.

The thing we kept running into

Every piece of winter clothing sold works on one assumption: that your body will keep producing heat and the garment's job is to hold on to it. Below freezing that assumption quietly breaks. Your body narrows the blood vessels in your hands and feet to protect your core, and a glove that is only a container ends up with nothing left to contain. That is why fingers and toes go numb long before the rest of you is cold, and why buying a thicker glove so rarely helps.

What we build instead

Gear with its own heat supply. Carbon-fibre elements that run to the end of every finger and across the toes, three settings you change with one gloved button, and two rechargeable batteries in every box rather than sold separately at checkout.

How we write about it

We publish the runtime on the setting you will actually use, not just the flattering one. We say that the gloves are bulkier than a liner and poor for fine handwork. We say that the battery sits on the wrist and will get in the way of a smartwatch. A page that only lists what a product does well is not telling you enough to decide.
